First Day of Nursery

Today was my first day in nursery. Dad and mom kept telling me just how great it was going to be - I think they were ready for me to move on to the kid class. I became so excited that I decided not to take a nap. On the way to church I was pretty tired.
I had a lot of fun in nursery. Grandma and Grandpa H are my nursery leaders - what kid gets that lucky? My nursery is divided into two classes - the younger and older kids. Katie is in the older class so I do not get to play with her, but I got to meet and play with a lot of other people. Daddy said when he checked up on me I was playing on the window sill with Ella Loughran and whenever I got up she would grab my dress and have me sit back down next to her. Yes, we had fun!
After nursery we went to Grandma and Grandpa H's house where they were not even sick of me. They also told mom and dad how great I was - I did not cry once! Yes, I am going to enjoy this nursery thing!

Summer Vacation 2009

This summer my parents took Katie and me on the best vacation EVER. We went to... Europe! My Aunt and Uncle live over in England with their (now) three kids so we wanted to visit them. Since they just had my newest cousin we didn't want to stay at their place too long, so we went to Paris, France and London, England for the majority of our trip. It was AMAZING! Here are some highlights from our trip.

July 28th: Our flight left at 10:10 pm. We flew non-stop to London Heathrow through British Airways. This was my first airplane ride and it was a little over 9 hours long. I was so good on it. I had a baby bassinet that they put me in. I fell right asleep and slept the whole flight. Go me! The flight attendants were VERY impressed and said their kids were not even as good as me!
July 29th: Arrived in London, England. We walked around Hyde Park for a little bit after checking into our hotel.
We went back to the hotel early to try to get some sleep. I was actually VERY good and fell right to sleep. I would have slept through the night, but Katie was having a hard time adjusting to the time change. However, she only woke me up a few times and I was able to fall back asleep.

July 30th: We took a TGV Eurostar to Paris, France.
It took about 2-1/4 hours to get to Paris. It was very steady and very comfortable. We checked into our hotel
and then explored the city. We got to see the Paris Opera, eat French food, and saw the Eiffel Tower at night, which was beautiful. I really liked the lights on the Eiffel Tower; they started blinking at midnight!

7/31-8/4 Paris! We saw SO much. Here were all of the places we went to in Paris.
-Arc de Triomphe
-Bateaux Parisien (Boat Cruise)
-Grevin Wax Museum
-Musee de Quai Branly
-Museum of Arts and Invention (My dad's favorite museum)
-Tropical Aquarium (where afterward Katie pretended like she was eating all of the fish)
-Pantheon
-Jardin de Luxembourg
-Towers of Notre Dame
-Chapelle Expiatoire
-LDS church (French ward)
-Opera de Paris
-Versailles
-Concord
-Jardin de Tuileries
-Louvre
-Montparnasse Tower
We ate crepes, French pastries, cheese, sandwiches, kabobs, and had a lot of good food and drinks. Our hotel was great and really roomy. My personal favorite was the Eiffel Tower and the Boat Cruise.

8/4/2009: Today was a huge travel day. We took the TGV Eurostar from Paris to London, then took a train from London to York and from York to Harrogate. In Harrogate we took a cab to my Aunt and Uncle's. We got to see my three cousins, eat dinner, and go to the park.

8/4/2009-8/7/2009: Harrogate
We spent this time with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. It was great to see them and play with them.

On 8/6/2009 we spent the day in York, which was a lot of fun. I got to walk on a Medieval Castle Wall with daddy!

We left Harrogate on 8/7/2009 and took a train from Harrogate to Leeds and then Leeds to London. We took a taxi to our hotel room, checked in, and went to sleep.

My favorites were the London Eye, the London Zoo, and all of the doggies in the parks (I would chase after all of them).

8/13/2009: Fly back to Washington
Our flight left at 6:15 pm. I was so excited to be flying again. Again, I got a bassinet and slept the entire flight. When we got back to the states my Grandpa H picked me up from the airport. We got home and my Grandma H was waiting for us! I was really tired though so I just gave them hugs and kisses and went to bed.

I had such a fun time. Thanks mom and dad for taking us!

Sentences!

I am speaking in sentences. Today I said "Who's that?" "Where's dada?" and "What's that?"
I'm getting there. My vocabulary is expanding. Today at church I started tickling Alaina (my babysitter) and her dad while saying "Tickle, Tickle". The fun begins!

Independance Day 2009

Today was the 4th of July, or Independence Day. I'm not quite sure what was going on, but it was fun.
We went over to Aunt Melissa's where I ate TONS of hamburger and fruit. Then, we played outside in the sprinkler, yet again. I stood watching, but enjoyed it when cousin Alicia splashed me.
And I loved playing in the playhouse:
After the sprinklers and popsicles we went to the front yard where we did some fireworks for us little kids. We got to see snakes, do confetti poppers,
and I watched while the other cousins played with sparklers.
By that time it was an hour past my bedtime and I was VERY tired. So, I went to bed. I heard that everyone still had fun, but not as much fun as if I were there. Next year guys; I'll be able to stay up later next year!

First Sprinkler Experience

Today daddy put up the sprinkler in the front yard, put on Katie and my swimsuits, and took us out. I wasn't sure quite what to think, and just stood there. However, I did think it was HILARIOUS when Katie ran around the sprinkler. I laughed so hard I fell down. Daddy got it on video so maybe one day we'll get it posted on here!

Bowling!

I went bowling for the first time today. We bowled two games, and it was great. And guess what, my first bowl EVER was a STRIKE! I'm not quite sure what that means yet, but mommy and daddy said that's really good! Sure I had daddy's help on that one, but still I was there and helped push the ball.

And here are some pictures:

Camping

Yesterday we took a road trip to go camping. I was so excited!

Here I am an hour into the trip:
We went camping again and this time I stayed the whole night. I really had a lot of fun. I walked ALL over the big green grass field, took all of my naps, and slept all night in the tent. I went camping with dad, mom, Grandpa D, Uncle Devin, and cousin Austen.
I got to play with dogs, roam around, and do a Father's Day Craft. I cannot wait to do this again!

Sitting at the table

I have learned how to climb. I am now climbing over the seat to sit at Katie's table. I love it here! Usually she leaves food and I find some tasty treats. Most of them get taken away from me though (especially if they are in liquid form). I sure have fun up here. Hooray for new adventures.

Getting to Stand

Now I can go from the ground to standing without using an object to pull me up. I've done this a couple of times before, quite possibly by chance, but today every time I was walking and fell down I just got right back up and started walking again.

Riding the bike!

I am a bike riding machine. I am pretty fast. Although my feet do not reach the petals I can get on and off by myself, and I push with my legs while on the bike. I am learning and having a lot of fun.

Dada's Graduation

I went to daddy's graduation today. It was a little over two hours long and I was a very good girl. I am so proud of daddy. He studied and got GREAT grades all while watching my big sister Katie and me. He really values education and I hope one day I can be just like him. Congratulations dad! I love you!

My tongue

I have recently discovered my tongue and it's powers. If you say: "Aubrey, where is your tongue?" I will stick it out at you. And, I sure have a cute, tiny tongue.
